Philippians 1:9-11__ Apostolic Prayer

February 22, 2010

Philippians 1:9-11: And this I pray, that your love may abound still more and more in knowledge and all discernment, 10 that you may approve the things that are excellent, that you may be sincere and without offense till the day of Christ, 11 being filled with the fruits of righteousness which are by Jesus Christ, to the glory and praise of God.

Paul is praying for the church again–that paternal, shepherd heart again shines through the evangelism that marks his life.

Jesus, I ask that You would plant the love of the Father even deeper in my heart for those You’ve placed in my life.  Let this love transcend my limitations and bring me into a sincere pursuit of Your Presence.  Enlarge my capacity to love You better with a revelation of who You are.  Prune me according to Your will so that my life would be filled with the fruit of the Spirit–a fragrant garden and pleasing resting place for Your Spirit to settle.  In the precious name of Jesus, Amen.

God loves marriage. Seriously. He loves it. And He is the one that knits hearts together. It’s always, always, always His will for a husband and a wife to be united and at peace with one another. I will pray today that you will feel His leadership in your home and that He will soften your hearts to one another.
